First Annual VectorUSA Operation Gratitude

Several dozen VectorUSA employees joined the First Annual Operation Gratitude event to assemble Care Kits, write letters to our active troops, veterans and first responders and enjoy a pizza lunch. Hosted by the Contracts Administration and Compliance groups, VectorUSA employees wrote more than 200 letters to our troops, veterans and first responders and put together 300 care kits filled with toothbrushes, travel-size toothpaste, travel-size deodorant, small packs of razors, gum and mints, non-aerosol shaving gel, travel-size foot or baby powder, travel size packs of Q-tips, mini flashlights, travel-size packs of AA or AAA batteries, travel-size packs of facial tissue, lip balm or Chapstick, and travel-size packs of moist towelettes. Along with the letters and care kits, VectorUSA donated some 70 Beanie Babies. Service men and women use these beanie babies overseas to gain the trust of local children who in turn help them avoid harmful situations.

Operation Gratitude annually sends over 200,000 care packages filled with food, entertainment, hygiene, and handmade items, plus personal letters of appreciation to Veterans, First Responders, New Recruits, Wounded Heroes, their Care Givers, and to individually named U.S. service members deployed overseas and their families waiting at home. Among those who were honored with care packages from Operation Gratitude were VectorUSA’s own Veterans including Kevin Barnett, Larry Bowman, Tony Brinkley, Joel Carrillo, Justin Clark, Robert Conard, Budd Downing, Taiwan Ferrell, Shaun Hernandez, Christopher Howry, Luis Jaime, Scott Jamison, Gary Jones, Timothy Jones, Rod Kelly, Sharlene Kelly, Joseph Kennedy, Phillip Larsen, Martin Lind, Dave Maynard, Michael Muniz, Edgar Ochoa, Pete Peterson, William Phelps, Duane Powdrill, Robert Ray, Matthew Recknagel, Terri-Kim Reid, Anthony Richardson, Alan Roa, Justin Rolain, Daniel Saenz, Jeremy Smith, Will Smith, Gerald Stiles, Kevin Te, David Trefrey, Hugo Vaca, Hector Venegas, Jeffrey Wall, Gerald Wren, and Ron Yelenich.

Operation Gratitude’s mission is to lift the spirits and meet the evolving needs of the Military and First Responder communities, and provide volunteer opportunities for civilians anywhere in America to express their appreciation to all who serve our nation.
