Project Description

Objective

Anaheim Elementary School District, with 24 schools and more than 18,500 PreK-6 students, is the second largest elementary school district in California. The District needed a complete Wireless LAN overhaul at its 24 campuses.

Solution

VectorUSA engineers began with assessing the fiber infrastructure at each of the campuses. Existing fiber, if present and viable, was used. At sites where the fiber was non-existent or unusable, VectorUSA installed, terminated and tested multimode fiber to support 10Gbe from the MDF to each IDF on the campuses utilizing the existing pathways. HP 5412 Switch Chassis, 1100 watt power supplies, 8-port 10Gbe SFP+ modules, 24 port 100 Base-T PoE+ modules and 10Gbe+ transceivers were installed and configured within the MDF to support 10Gbe to each IDF at every campus.

VectorUSA also installed and configured HP 2920 48-port POE+ switches, HP 2-port SFP+ modules and 10Gbe SFP+ transceivers within the IDF’s on each campus. VectorUSA engineers then installed more than 850 Aruba IAP-315 Access Points to each of the existing cable locations.

VectorUSA was the Lead Service Provider on this Wireless Access project; designing, managing, implementing and executing the full delivery of all products and services. At the completion of the project, VectorUSA provided training, management and trouble-shoot training of the complete solution. Throughout this project, VectorUSA followed strict protocols relating to the sensitive project environment.
