Huntington Memorial Hospital

Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena is a non-profit, community-based, 625-bed medical and trauma center, providing acute medical care and community services to the San Gabriel Valley and nearby communities. The Hospital needed to upgrade and replace 90 wireless access points throughout the hospital.

The hospital was wired with 90 Cisco Aironet 1200 series WAPs, a single band access point with dual diversity antenna connectors for challenging RF environments. The 1200 series APs were being replaced with Cisco Aironet 1142 Wireless Access Points, a business-ready, 802.11n access point designed for simple deployment and energy efficiency. VectorUSA removed and replaced the 90 Wireless Access Points, using a containment field at all times to ensure that all dust and debris were prevented from spreading throughout the work area. As the access points were replaced, each was tested for network connectivity and uplinked to the corresponding network switch.

Upon completion of the installations, VectorUSA engineers uploaded the software for the newly installed access points onto the Huntington Hospital network and configured the access points. As a result, the Hospital was prepared for the next wave of mobile devices and applications, and wireless end-users experienced faster, clearer and more reliable connections.

VectorUSA was the Prime Contractor on this project. We designed, managed, implemented and executed the full delivery of all products and services. At the completion of the project, VectorUSA provided training, management and trouble-shoot training of the complete solution. VectorUSA followed strict protocols relating to the sensitive environment.
