Workforce Collaboration and Communication for a School District in Southern California
Since its founding in 1854, this School District has grown to 6,000 teachers and 226 educational facilities, including 117 traditional elementary schools, nine K-8 schools, 24 traditional middle schools, 22 high schools, 49 charter schools, 13 alternative schools and five additional program sites.
The School District was looking for an enterprise-level InformaCast Fusion software subscription service that would provide software licensing for an emergency mass notification system at 175 locations district-wide.
This presented challenges as there was not a standardized paging system, and many systems did not have the ability to integrate with other systems.
To achieve a cost-effective and rapidly deployable emergency communication system, VectorUSA deployed InformaCast Fusion Cloud while also leveraging the District’s existing investment in advanced, high-speed technology infrastructure with Cisco Unified Call Manager.
This is a proprietary system that offers essential paging functions through Cisco IP phones with emergency communication capabilities already built-in through InformaCast software.
As part of the deployment, all applicable district servers and systems were evaluated to ensure they could support the new system along with high-availability functionality at the two data centers.
VectorUSA provided a standardized, integrated, state-of- the-art emergency communication system for the entire district with mobile integration.
Our solution provided future-proof capabilities, including integration with mobile devices, access control, surveillance, fire protection, smoke control, and building control systems, enabling the ability to launch ECS away from desk phones.
We also integrated the District’s existing PA, intercom, bell, clock, and messaging systems, enabling single pane-of-glass management of existing systems as one comprehensive ECS.
